Munich, Germany – A record crowd of 30,000 watched the German national team take on Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final in Munich on Tuesday night.
The German champions, meanwhile, remain unbeaten in their past five games, while Bayern Munich have not lost in Munich since 2010.
The home leg was delayed by two days because of a flu epidemic that had been declared in Germany on Saturday.
On the other hand, Bayern’s German coach Jupp Heynckes says he is confident of securing the league title.
The Bundesliga has been without a league title since 2012 and the top-flight has been in danger of collapsing since Bayern won the title with three wins from five.
The club have not qualified for the Champions League since 2004.
